How Will The Plastic Wipe Ban In Wales Affect The Construction Industry?

Don’t be caught out by the plastic wipe ban with our Fully Biodegradable Multi-Purpose Bamboo Wipes.

Last week, Wales announced the decision to ban plastic wet wipes from December 2026 in a bid to reduce the environmental harm they currently cause. From that date, it will be a criminal offence to supply wet wipes containing plastic to customers.

Most wet wipes used in the construction industry designed for building decorating and DIY tasks, are made from polypropylene, a plastic material that does not biodegrade and is more harmful to the environment.

Here at Tembe, we have always prioritised innovative, environmentally friendly products that make a positive impact. Our Multi-Purpose Bamboo Wipes contain zero plastic and are made from 100% bamboo, making them fully biodegradable.

You are probably wondering: can a wipe made from 100% bamboo also be tough on stains? The answer is yes. Our wipes effectively remove dirt, grime, oils, adhesives and most paints.

Hippo Wipes are fully compostable and, when disposed of in appropriate waste conditions, begin to break down in as little as two months.

Put the environment first with our Hippo fully biodegradable Multi-Purpose Bamboo Wipes.
